Jane Hancock joined Accoras as Chief Executive Officer in February 2026, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the Queensland health system.

Jane specialised in critical care nursing before progressing through senior leadership roles across Queensland Health, including Chief Executive of Central West Hospital and Health Service and Chief Operating Officer of Metro North Health, Australia’s largest hospital and health service. Jane had led Queensland’s health systems response to COVID-19 and has led the planning, funding and delivery of major health infrastructure and service redesign programs across rural, regional and metropolitan Queensland.

Jane holds an Executive Master of Public Administration (ANZSOG/Griffith University), executive education credentials from Harvard Business School, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland and a Non-Executive Director of the Leukaemia Foundation.

Jane’s leadership is grounded in her belief that the best organisations are built on psychological safety, accountability without blame, and the courage to learn from what goes wrong. At Accoras, she is leading the development and implementation of the Accoras Strategy 2026-2036, embedding a Restorative, Just and Learning Culture across the organisation, and strengthening the partnerships and clinical governance that underpin safe, culturally responsive services.

Jane is passionate about community mental health, early intervention for children, young people and adults, and building services that meet people where they are.
